Although the dress itself seemed to have been chosen to match the color scheme of her fragrance, "Purr by Katy Perry" and was covered in sparkling diamantes, onlookers were no doubt more interested in her cleavage.
The incident is rather akin to Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction at Super Bowl thirty-eight except that Katy Perry was more fortunate as she managed to avoid actually falling out of her dress. Katy Perry, famous for various songs including "I Kissed A Girl" and her most recent album "Teenage Dream" was also vastly popular, has quite often courted controversy but has always remained within the boundaries of what is acceptable.
